The seven hour presentation was definitely a rollercoaster ride that took me from feeling joy, laughter, anger, sadness, depression, loneliness, companionship, and commonality; pretty much the whole spectrum of emotions were drawn out of my heart. –Seth
This seminar helped me go from despising many of the icons of pop culture (e.g. eminem) to having a broken heart for them. They are living out the inheritance of despair that our godless society has left to them. -- Tony, college pastor & teacher, Reno
The World Seen presentation enabled me to see the people of the world with a clearer lens, all while rocking my emotions. I understand better what people believe ... I had no idea how prevalent these beliefs are. --Stephanie, student
The World Seen lasted the seven shortest hours of my life! Sitting through it was a piece of cake, very interesting, and incredibly thought provoking.... I realized that these perspectives were more common than I thought. --Julie, student
Your presentation is just so well done--very professional! I love the use of art, movies, and songs that illustrate our culture's mindsets. Without even realizing it, you taught this group how to analyze our culture rather than to just take it in mindlessly. Bless you for that! -- Luke, youth pastor, Seattle
What surprised me the most about the seminar was how emotional it was for me. I did not come prepared to struggle to hold back tears. It was very moving for me. --Jennifer, student
Throughout the entire presentation, the audience was never encouraged to condemn or tolerate any one particular world view, bit simply to understand the point of view and belief system from which people can come. --Claire-Marie
Pictures, music, drama, movies, and real-life stories all joined together left an impression on the hearts and minds of those present. I left feeling a little bit smarter, somewhat overwhelmed, and with a fresher perspective on the postmodern culture in which I have landed. –Taryn
I appreciated especially the way you and your team tried to be objective, since I brought my non-believing cousin and his high school daughter. I appreciated the way you tried to get the audience not to dis the "Earth First" people and pointed out that in their own way they were worshipping as we do. The presentation was very clear and the variety really helped it to move along smoothly and keep all learning styles happy! --adult
I was blown away with how quickly the time went. I really enjoyed how the World Seen used music, drama, computer graphics, statistics, as well as just interacting with the audience to fully engage us is in their presentation. --Mindy, college student
I love the World Seen’s ability to analyze and provide a deft touch on contemporary shifts in culture and the pop-entertainment industry. It is an eye-opener how, besides the important worldview ideas being communicated, the utter brokenness and sin in American pop culture shows clearly through music, film and literary artists -- Derek, youth pastor
I liked how personal the presentation was. The team appealed to the audience not only intellectually, but also morally, spiritually, and emotionally. -- Andy, student
What I like most were the clips taken from actual street people being interviewed, and the songs from the various pop artists, which helped to show us what they believe, and how that has effected today's teens. --homeschooled teenager, Portland

Intrigued, entertained, informed, and saddened. These were just a few of the feelings I felt during and after the World Seen presentation.... What some people believe made me sit incredulously in my chair and wonder how the truth can get so twisted. --Rachel, college student
The team had a great personality and worked well together and seemed very knowledgeable of the material they shared. I could sense the passion that each one had for the topics they shared. --Jordan, student
I was not extremely shocked by the information presented, but it was very hard for me to actually hear the words to the songs, and see the desperate worldviews evident in the video clips. Perhaps more than anything, rather than just knowing that it was "out there," the reality of it hit me. --Anna, student
This World Seen presentation has stirred up in me a new passion for youth. I am looking forward to getting more involved with the hurting youth of our society. --Casey, college student
I think the clips of the "real people" were particularly effective in showing how seriously people take things. There was actual footage of real people right here in the Portland area, in our own back yard, who truly don't believe in right or wrong; or who really think that they are going to be reincarnated someday into something else, or another person, or another life, and just keep trying over and over again. --Dustin, student
The presentation was spectacular. It jumped between philosophy and pop culture with ease. I like how it ended positively and the challenge to Christians not to take this information just for head knowledge but to try to connect and relate to the world around us; that is the most important part of the presentation. --Nathan, student
When I actually heard the stories and background information behind these songs that I sing, and the movies I watch, I was blown away. Most of the time, I think that I sing along because it has a good beat or catchy tone but now it makes me hesitate. -- Erin, student
I was thoroughly enthralled with the presentation. It certainly enabled me to have a greater understanding of present cultural problems and issues, while at the same time enabling me to understand a Christian response to such issues and problems. The whole presentation provoked both my mind and my heart to wrestle with and confront what Ravi Zacharias calls the "silent malaise" of contemporary culture. --Matt, Canadian student
The one thing that I'm taking with me into the future is the attention I need to spend on the things I enjoy being entertained by. I desire to understand better where the world is heading in entertainment and because of entertainment. --Jeff, student
I assumed that without the "enlightenment of the Holy Spirit" the common person was a shallow thinker, or maybe didn't consider the deeper questions of life, because if they did, they would, of course, all follow Christ, no questions asked.... People, intelligent people, have considered the bigger questions of life. --Julie, college student
It connected a lot of the dots I had and made the worldviews more tangible.... Seeing other worldviews being preached on the big screen, in the name of entertainment, makes huge connections on a personal level. No longer are these worldviews merely abstract thoughts and words, they become an everyday reality. --Steve, college student
When I saw the worldview presentation I not only gained a better perspective of Postmodernism, but of different worldviews played out in a personal way. The music I listened to, the movies I watch, and the clothes I wear all categorize me. --Nici, college student
The thing that struck me the most was the complexity of the worldviews that are held by people. I have never really gone past the beats and surface words of music, but through the presentation it gave me a chance to see the meaning to some of my favorite bands and songs. --Isaac, student
As I was contemplating throughout the presentation, in great detail I found my life flying before my eyes. I did not feel like I was watching what the world believes but what I have fallen for. Taking captive my thoughts is what I really was convicted of. It is not right to meander through life, without knowing the answer to questions. --Ruthie, student
Not only was my mind working to analyze what was being shown to me, but my heart was burdened with the ideas I saw communicated. The presentation was not only well done, but it was very impacting and motivating. --Michelle, college student
What made the presentation really applicable were the examples of the different worldviews in contemporary songs, movies, and books. I have been a youth leader for the last five years and I think the World Seen presentation is exactly the kind of program our youth today need. --Ryan, youth leader
When you started the seminar, you told everyone that it was your hope that by the end of the presentation everyone would have a better understanding of the world views out there and not only that by that they would be broken for those people. I do believe your World Seen team has accomplished that goal. --Donny, college student
After listening to many of the songs from the presentation, all of which I recognized, I realized that many times I have no clue what it is that they are saying and what I am putting into my mind.
--Brooke, student
I didn't know that so many of my own thoughts are effected by the world around me.... I realized that the movies I've watched throughout my life and the music I've listened to really does have an effect on me. --Ben, student
I have been way too uneducated in my thinking. I have often thought that these artists were just overexaggerating or in the business for money, but it seems that money is mostly a bonus to them. Getting their voice heard is often their main concern. --Isaiah, student
I found the presentation easy to understand, and it was exciting! --James, college student
It showed me how dense I am to recognizing the way worldviews are put in movies and songs. -- Rainy, student
